Câlin
Alessandro Corina for Mandelli 1953
Câlin, meaning “embrace” in French, tells a story about this universal gesture of protection, which symbolizes the idea of affinity: it is the action of the embrace itself being told from the object’s material quality, thanks to the perfect fixing of the handle’s volumes and its stem. Another intriguing detail is the movable rubber cap, a simple accessory which combines aesthetic with functionality by avoiding the handle’s impact against the wall. The grip has been obtained via TURNING, a process that allows to reduce waste of materials and reintroduce them to the foundry supply chain. This new project is a perfect synthesis of the modern vision imagined by Alessandro Corina and the tradition brought by Mandelli 1953: a model of cohesion between the Company’s artisan tradition and the Designer’s idea, who is careful to details and to new interior design trends, with a truly original detail: a movable rubber cap that avoids the handle’s impact against the wall An unmatched design that develops from the nearest element to the door and follows elegant and full, soft and decisive lines and for a small detail that can make the difference in a modern, detail-focused home interior design.
